Road Accidents in the UK


The table illustrates the number of the deadly accidents which happened in the UK streets and roads in three months time in 2004. Five types of activities that lead to an accident are mentioned in the table and the numbers were divided in to five age groups that ranged from 2 to 16 years old.

The most significant number of accidents happened as they were playing in the street. Most of Those accidents happened to children's aged between 2 to 7 with 179 accidents out of a total of 214 cases. The second most accidents took place while children's were shopping for their parents and cycling in the street which comprised 52 and 45 of all accidents. Of those 52 and 45 accidents 44 and 35 happened for those aged between 5 to 11 years old. Activities which involved children's going to school and returning from school had the least number of accidents. However, most of these accidents happened to children's between 5 to 11 years old. In addition, the lowest number of accidents involved children's aged between 15 to 16 years old and accounted only for 7 accidents out of 370.

All in all, The highest number of accidents took place while children's aged between 2 to 7 were playing in the street.
